Longhorn 100 Honors WisePies Pizza as the #1 Fastest Growing Company

Celebrates the Entrepreneurial Achievements of University of Texas at Austin Alumni

Albuquerque, N.M. – May 8, 2024 – WiseChoice Foods LLC, a natural foods manufacturer of frozen pizza, frozen snacks and pasta sauces under the brand WisePies Pizza, and a certified minority owned, female led company, announced today the top honor of being ranked as the #1 fastest growing company in the country in the 2024 Longhorn 100, a prestigious list that identifies, recognizes, and celebrates entrepreneurial achievements of UT Austin alumni with the full-ranked list revealed at the gala held on May 3, 2024.

“It’s truly an honor to be a part of this program. It not only reminds me of how far we’ve come, but that there is no limit to what this company can achieve. My son was born on August 8, 2020 just a week before the start of my senior year at UT. Balancing life and navigating a 40-acre campus at the tender age of 22 was challenging, but the UT experience was a lesson in tenacity, perseverance and understanding of the different walks of life because of the understanding and support extended to me”, stated Season Chavez, president of WiseChoice Foods and a Texas Ex.

“The Moody College of Communications professors, staff, and my fellow students provided a path to complete my education with my son in a baby carrier by my side during classes. I graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. At the time, I had no idea what it would mean to achieve a degree from the University of Texas at Austin, but today it’s not lost on me what UT prepared me for and taught me about life. We will continue to face challenges throughout our years spanning personal and professional facets of life. When we build a solid foundation of resilience and grit starting with a well-rounded education surrounded by a supportive village of family and friends, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”

In addition to being Longhorn founded, owned, or led, the top 100 companies have been in continual operation for the past five years, and have had an annual revenue of at least $250,000 since 2020. The rankings were determined by sorting the companies’ percentages of compound annual growth in sales or revenue (CAGR) from Jan. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2022.
