As Sign-Up Deadline of May 6th Draws Near, Community Engagement Increases with Added Sponsorship Support

Albuquerque, N.M. – April 27, 2022 – WiseChoice Foods LLC, the manufacturer of the frozen pizza brand WisePies Pizza and a certified minority-owned and female-led company based in Albuquerque, N.M., announced today that Solomon Kandie has joined the team of healthy lifestyle advocates in support of the 2022 WisePies Pizza Run to be held on May 15, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM at Mesa del Sol. Kandie will be running in the Pizza Run in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico as well as advocating for others to join in the event and community festivities that will follow.

Solomon shares, “Running can elevate us through education, nurture our social connections as well as our mental and physical health. My story is an example of how movement in any form, done in community with others, can enrich the young in powerful ways.”

Solomon Kandie has three passions: running, family and building a vibrant community. Being raised in Kenya, he has a rich background later moving to the United States to run for Tulane University. He has a decorated running career including the achievement of a 3-time NCAA All-American classification, induction into the Tulane University Hall of Fame, and is the 5-time Champion of the Duke City Marathon. Solomon achieved an Olympic Qualifying Standard both in the Marathon (2:17:23) and 3000m Steeplechase (8:29:40). Solomon finds balance in life from the beauty of having a family. He is married to a lovely lady who is changing lives through healthcare with two kids in elementary and middle school. Since moving to Albuquerque, NM, he has devoted his time and energy to inspiring others to nurture their health and education through various roles including Better Health Ambassador for the City of Albuquerque. He currently works in the Department of Technology and Innovation at the City of Albuquerque and is a middle school cross country track coach at Albuquerque Academy.
