Pizza pies part of Barrett House’s ‘All Fun No Run’ virtual Pi Day fundraiser

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — On your mark, get set, relax – and have some pie!

The Barrett Foundation has announced the first ever “Zero K All Fun No Run” fundraiser benefiting the Barrett House shelter set for Pi Day, or March 14.

Pi Day, as we all know, celebrates Pi, the Greek symbol used to represent the mathematical constant – the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, which is about 3.14159. And that’s why March 14, or 3.14, marks the day.

“During the pandemic, we wanted to come up with a different type of fundraiser you could do safely from your home and have fun in the process,” Barrett Foundation Executive Director Heather Hoffman said in a news release.

And what would Pi Day be without some pie? So, Wisepies Pizza is teaming up with the foundation on the fundraiser.

“Runners” will get a swag bag that has a personal pizza from Wisepies, a commemorative medal and more.

Registration is $31.41 – get it? 3141 … – with the option to buy another pizza for one of Barrett House shelter’s residents to enjoy.

March 8 is the deadline to register and participant bags can be picked up at Barrett House, 10300 Constitution NE, just east of Eubank. To register, or for more information, go to www.barrettfoundation.org/zero-k-all-fun-no-run.

The Barrett Foundation provides emergency shelter and services for women and children through Barrett House, which also offers a women’s respite program for homeless women released from the hospital who need recuperative time, the group says.
